We believe that all children are unique and we are committed to helping children to grow with joy in a carefully created free and responsible environment.

At the Fresno Montessori School, we are dedicated to the Montessori Method of education which has been timelessly successful with all nationalities and social ranks. We acknowledge that each child is a unique individual capable of important contributions, now, and in the future. We respect the child’s need and right to construct himself/herself. We are committed to helping children to grow with joy in a carefully created free and responsible environment. We support a highly trained staff that finds joy in helping children develop all aspects of their unique potential. We are role models for our children. We take pleasure in working with parents to create the optimum home/school community for our children.

Born in 1870 into an Italian family, Dr. Maria Montessori was the first woman in Italian history to become a physician. Her experiences in medicine and interest in anthropology, philosophy, and psychiatry led her to a life devoted to the education of children and parents. Through her work with children, she determined that the most important learning tool was a healthy learning environment. At the time of her death in 1951 she was one of the most honored and respected educators in the world.
